I have been interested in
drawing and painting for as
long as I can remember,
however the past twenty
years has seen my interest
turn to a passion for
capturing landscapes. This
passion has resulted in my
two line drawing
publications, 'Lakeland Penscapes' and
'Capturing the Cotswolds',
published in 1998 and 2001
respectively.
Although taught to draw at
an early age, my technique
is largely self
taught. I work mainly in
watercolours and pen and
ink, which are the two
mediums that allow me
opportunities to create
representational and
realistic landscapes.
I find inspiration from
landscapes in Scotland, The
Lake District, in particular
Borrowdale, the Langdale
Valley, the Central Lakes,
the Cotswolds, and Cornwall.
I consider early spring and
September and October to be
best months for capturing
light and colour in our
countryside.
I am a
'Friend of the Lake
Artists Society', in
Cumbria, and was elected a
'Fellow of the Royal Society
of Arts', in 1990.
I admire the work of

Landscape' was in October
